What happens to a correction

If a page states something that is wrong, the page gets changed. That is the whole procedure — there is no review board and no editorial calendar. A factual error in an explanation is treated as more urgent than a broken feature, because a wrong explanation is quietly wrong for everybody who reads it afterwards, while a broken button announces itself.

Corrections are made to the page itself rather than added as a note underneath, and where a claim turns out to be unsupportable it is removed rather than softened. If you tell us a number on this site is wrong and it is, the number goes.

What this address is not for

Guest posts, link exchanges, paid placements and sponsored content are all declined, and messages proposing them are not answered. Nothing on this site is placed in exchange for money or links, and no page carries a recommendation that was paid for.

Requests to check whether a name, handle or title is available also cannot be helped with. None of the generators can check availability — every page that produces names says so — and the answer changes by platform and by day, so any answer given here would be wrong by the time you read it.
